Why Staging Your Home Matters

Home sellers may be unsure about the benefits of home staging, but top experts and research agree that it’s a worthwhile investment: 92% of top agents agreed that home staging was beneficial in efforts to sell a property, and affects all or some buyers’ views of the home. Vacant homes most often require staging to bring the best sale result but any home can gain an advantage with even some light rearranging and decorations selected by an expert.  I wholeheartedly recommend and encourage staging to get top dollar for your home.  Even though staging can be expensive, it typically represents well under 1% of the value of the home.

The vast majority – 83% – of buyers find they are able to more easily visualize the property as their future home when staged, according to the National Association of Realtors. The most important rooms to highlight are often the living room, kitchen, and master bedroom. A home stager will select the best style and pieces to appeal to the widest group of buyers. This results in sellers receiving a higher price and spending less time waiting for their property to sell. Results can vary but some top agents predict that sellers will return $3 for every $1 spent on staging. When a seller has already invested so much effort and preparation in their home it’s important to ensure everything is done to bring the best price.  Here is a sample of our most recent home:
